“I got involved in Aboriginal Affairs in th 1950’s and 60’s with teh Mooree Aboriginal Advancement Committee. I was elected to the NSE Land Council and Trust. They held in trust all land previously owned by the NSW Aboriginal Protection Board. I was elected to the NSW Legal Services Board, supported Aboriginal structures set up in NSW and Australia. Elected to the NSW Houses for Aboriginal People. First and only Aboriginal to be elected to the World Council for Indigenous People. Led most of the marches in NSW and took part in demonstrations around Australia. Took Nookanbar to the United Nations, which changed the political arena around Lad Rights in Australia.
Stopped Big W from building on Taylors Oval, which was recorded as a burial ground and a unique sporting ground, thanks to the Murray Task Force Committee. Took part in the Mash Moree Aboriginal Sobriety House, known as Thorn House. Nine years on the board of the Morree District Hospital. Supported the Aboriginal Employment Strategy, which now has offices in every state of Australia icluding a Cafe & Art Gallery in Moree. Life memeber of the famous Moree Boomerang Rugby League Club and Birray Miyay. Played a big role in changing Moree from”Little Rock” in Australia to what it is today. I have jammed a lot of things into my life.”
