A LETTER TO THE DOMINANT CULTURE
“Don’t forget who you are and where you come from, the circumstances of your fore fathers. My people are the oldest people of the planet. We ran this country not all that long ago… We had trade agreements with neighbouring clans also with Macassans to the north and also the Dutch and Portuguese… We carry ancient knowledge as environmentalists and conservationists. We have the knowledge to manage our own affairs and to be in control of our own destiny.”
